Ferrolic was designed from a strong fascination for the magical material Ferro Fluid. The natural dynamics of this fluid makes that this display bridges the gap between everyday digital screens and tangible reality.
This artificial leaf aims to enforce the interaction between an indoor plant and its environment by making this behaviour more visible. The leaf reacts on the same environmental factors als a plant, such as light, moisture, etc. but acts a lot faster.
This lamp exposes light by igniting and extinguishing tea candles. This lamp generates light in a sense that “it keeps the fire alive” and tries to connect to the way we interact with lamps in this era.
A project to explore the physical characteristics of hard woods and show the power of emphasising the beauty of a material by integrating it into a design.
These iPad styluses I made overnight while exploring an old metal lath. I spend several months on finding the right chemical mixture for the “point”. Finally I discovered that the essence of this design lies in the time-less love for a personalised stylus with a replaceable tip that will always be ready for the next technological invention.

During my studies Knowledge Engineering at Maastricht University I strongly missed the practical side of the subject. That is why, halfway, I co-founded the talent company Airglow Studios which caused me to put this study aside. For 5 years I was the managing director of this software company focused on Ux Design. We made web-based simulation games and complex custom software-systems. At its top, we had 17 employees.
An entrepreneurial experience that allowd me to learn many facets concerning commerce and business management. Supported by a workforce of local yougn talents, I had the responsibility to ensure the best possible user experience for our customer's end-users.
After they finished their studies, we were happy to see lots of our colleagues exchanged our team for that of world known companies.
